Changelog

What changed in each version of TidyWallet.

Last updated 15 October 2026

Newest version first. When a new version comes out, it’s added at the top.

Version 1.0.2 Coming to Google Play

Budgets and analytics

  • Analytics has a Week, Month, Quarter and Year picker under its title, so switching periods is one tap. All time and a custom range are still under the calendar button.

Version 1.0.1 On Google Play

The first version on Google Play. It has everything in 1.0, below, and these changes.

Plans

  • The paid plan is on sale, monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial on either for new subscribers. The yearly plan is chosen first, with what it comes to per month beside the monthly price.
  • A purchase unlocks the paid plan only once Google Play’s signature on it has been checked.

Transactions

  • The note opens and closes in step with the keyboard, without jumping.

Version 1.0 Testers only

The first version, released to testers. It runs on Android 8.0 or later and is in English.

Accounts and net worth

  • Bank, cash, credit card and asset accounts, each in its own currency.
  • Net worth in your main currency, with any balance the app has no exchange rate for listed separately.
  • Credit cards show what you owe and the credit left, and can be set to track only, so a purchase and the payment for it aren’t counted twice.
  • Tap an account to see its balance over time, the money in and out, and its latest transactions.
  • Archive an account you no longer use, or delete one. Before anything is deleted, the app says what will go with it.

Transactions

  • A keypad for entering amounts, including sums such as 42.50 + 12.90.
  • Scan a receipt instead of typing it: the total, date and shop are filled in, and the category too if you’ve filed that shop before. The receipt is read on your phone and the photo isn’t kept. English receipts for now.
  • Notes remember where they were filed. Pick or type a note you’ve used before and its category is filled in; for something that always costs the same, like a subscription, the amount is too. Anything you’ve already chosen or typed is left alone.
  • Transfers between accounts, including accounts in different currencies.
  • Categories two levels deep, which can be collapsed and merged, all on the Categories tab.
  • Mix your own colour for a category, as you can for an account, from a single row of colours. Adding or editing a category now fits on one screen, without scrolling.
  • Standing orders that post on their due date or wait for you to confirm them, and templates for entries you type often.
  • Editing a standing order asks whether the change applies only from now on or to the ones it has already posted as well. Only what you changed is updated, and past dates stay where they were.
  • Search across every year of your ledger, and a calendar view with each day’s net total.

Crypto and metals

  • Record purchases and sales of crypto and precious metals, with prices that update automatically.
  • Metals can be shown in grams, ounces or other units.
  • A Portfolio tab with each holding’s quantity, price, current value and price chart.

Budgets and analytics

  • Budgets by week, month or year, or for a one-off date range, with optional roll-over and a pace marker that shows early when you’re spending too fast.
  • Analytics built only from the transactions you enter, with what you earned and spent on an average day and week, and how your spending and your income divide by category. Tap a category to see its transactions for the period. The whole page scrolls, so every figure stays within reach in split screen or at a large text size.
  • A Home screen whose cards you can reorder and, for some, hide, with net worth drawn as a line or as bars.
  • Months and years can start on the day you choose, for example the day you’re paid.

Notifications

  • A notice when a standing order is waiting for you to confirm it, and when a budget is nearly spent or has been passed. Each has its own switch.

Your data

  • No account and no server. Your ledger stays on your phone.
  • An optional app lock that opens with your fingerprint, face or screen lock, and brings you back to the screen you were on.
  • Export to CSV or a PDF statement, and a backup file you can protect with a passphrase.
  • On the paid plan, a backup to your own Google Drive, once or every day, sealed with one passphrase. Restore from a backup file or from Google Drive on either plan.
  • Erase all data from Settings when you want to start again.

Plans

  • A free plan with no time limit and no advertising, and a paid plan that removes its limits; the plans section lists what each one includes. The paid plan went on sale in 1.0.1.
