Terms of use for TidyWallet and this website.

Using the app

You may use TidyWallet for your own personal record-keeping. No account is created for you and there is no advertising.

The app has a free plan and a paid plan. The free plan is limited to one money account, one asset account and one budget, and does not include the portfolio’s cost and gain figures, the full analytics, or cloud backup to Google Drive; the paid plan lifts those limits and adds those features. Recording transactions and trades, reading your holdings and their prices, local export, and restoring from a backup — including one held in your Google Drive — are part of the free plan. Pricing is not settled and nothing is currently offered for sale, so every install is on the free plan until that changes. If and when a paid plan goes on sale, it will be sold through Google Play and governed by Play's terms for purchases as well as these.

The app is distributed through the Google Play Store, so Google Play's own terms apply to how you obtain and install it, alongside these.

Your records are your responsibility

TidyWallet stores your ledger on your device and we keep no copy. There is no server of ours holding it, which means that unless you have turned on cloud backup, there is no copy held anywhere on your behalf and nothing to restore from if your device is lost, damaged, reset, or the app is uninstalled.

Cloud backup, where enabled, keeps one copy in your own Google Drive. That copy is subject to your agreement with Google and to whatever happens to your Google account; it is not held or administered by us, and we cannot restore it for you.

Keeping usable backups is therefore yours to do. The app provides a backup file and CSV and PDF export for exactly this purpose, and, on the paid plan, a backup to your own Google Drive, once or daily. A backup file you save may be protected with a passphrase or saved without one — that choice is yours, and it matters: an unprotected file can be read by anything that opens it, and a protected one cannot be recovered by anyone without the passphrase, including the developer. A Drive backup always sets a passphrase, because a copy only this device can open would be of no use on the device that replaces it.

Not financial advice

TidyWallet is a tool for recording and reviewing figures you enter. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and nothing it displays is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

Decisions you make with the help of it are your own. For advice about your circumstances, consult someone qualified to give it.

Rates and prices

Exchange rates and asset prices are retrieved from third-party public data sources, credited on the licences page. They are provided as-is by those services and are used as reference data, not as a dealable quote or a valuation.

These figures may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable, and the app does not guarantee their accuracy or timeliness. Where a price is missing the app reports the holding as not valued rather than substituting a figure, and where a currency cannot be converted the affected amount is named rather than folded silently into a total. Any figure derived from this data — including net worth — inherits its limitations.

No warranty

TidyWallet is offered without warranty of any kind. It is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free, to be compatible with every device, or to be fit for any particular purpose you have in mind.

To the extent the law allows, CraftedPxl, LLC is not liable for loss arising from your use of the app or this site — including lost or corrupted records, missed payments, or decisions taken on the basis of a figure it displayed. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement, and nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Fair use of the app and this site

Please do not use TidyWallet or this website for anything unlawful, and do not attempt to disrupt the site or the third-party data services the app relies on — those services are shared with everyone else using them.

Rights in TidyWallet and in this website that are not expressly granted to you remain with their respective owners. Third-party components are used under their own licences, which are listed on the licences page.

Changes and uninstalling

The app will change over time; features may be added, altered or withdrawn, and support for older Android versions may end.

These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top of this page will change with them, and continuing to use the app after that means the updated terms apply.

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. Export or back up anything you want to keep first, because uninstalling removes the app's data with it.
